Shibari Rope Bondage - Bael Series Core Curriculum - Creating Connection

This is our fan favorite "fuck around and find out" class. Yeah, the one with the rubber chickens and 3D printed spikes and bandanas. We promise it will make sense (and be fun) when you come to class.

Maybe you've never touched rope before; you don't need to know anything for this class in order to start using it with intention and connection. Maybe you have the basics and technical skills, but it's feeling way too dry and robotic. Let's work on reframing and bringing you out of your head and back into your body with rope. Maybe you've been practicing for years. There's always something to learn from your peers and ways you haven't thought of connecting before, or at least there's space to work on it. This is a practice, after all.

Shibari Rope Bondage - Bael Series Core Curriculum - Nerves & Safety + Components of Rope

Rope is an inherently dangerous activity and comes with a lot of risk that many newer folks are not aware of. Nerves are a key factor to consider, and in this class, we will go over some of the major nerves to be aware of and how injuries might show up. Safety is of paramount importance in any rope or kink practice, and we take this responsibility seriously. Informed consent is a core tenant to developing your own risk profile, and this class will give you a base to start better understanding and communicating your own risk profile.

The second half of class will focus on the features of rope. We will explore different types of rope and thier uses, some ways you can care and store rope, and other techincal aspects. These elements will build into rope handling and some intention when working with rope, which will be hands on and exploratory.

Shibari Rope Bondage - Bael Series Core Curriculum - Negotiation & Trauma Informed Consent - The Living Document

I’m interested in engaging with kink or rope, I found someone (even just myself) to do this thing with, and now what? How do I negotiate when I don’t even really know what I want or have a ton of experience in this thing? Where do I even begin?

We have developed our own negotiation and informed consent living document from a Queer and trauma-informed lens over our years as kinksters. A living document is a document that is continually edited and updated, meant to be flexible to match the flow of our dynamic and ever-shifting lives. This is the one we use all the time in our own lives and want to give you some hefty base to develop out your own! In this class on trauma informed consent and negotiation for kink and shibari rope bondage, you will learn the crucial skill of navigating boundaries and discussing past traumas with sensitivity, promoting a safer and more inclusive experience within your scenes and broader kink/rope life.
